Filigree hand inlaid twisted wire work, then each wire is soldered in place. Made in 925 sterling, then 14k gold plated.
Pearls are believed to bring the gentle healing power of the sea to whomever wears them. More calm you say? Yes please! I made this piece by hand, in my NYC studio. The chain is handmade of wire wrapped pearls.
*Dating back to 3000 BC, the earliest archaeological filigree pieces were found in Mardin, Mesopotamia. The technique travelled to other parts of the ancient world and was widely used, and very highly praised, for its beautiful details. Filigree pieces were worn by the Etruscans, Ancient Greeks and the Romans.
